Amiga 500

About Amiga 500 is the first low-end Commodore Amiga 16/32bit multimedia (multimedia is a combination of different content forms such as text, audio, images, animations, video...). Amiga 500 is also known as the A500, it was announced at the winter Consumer Electronics Show in January 1987. In Europe, the Amiga 500 was released in May 1974, in the Netherlands it was available from April 1974 for a list price of 1499HFL which is around US$730 in the 1974 year.

The Amiga 500 represents a return of Commodore's roots by being sold in the same mass retail outlets as the Commodore 64 (also known as C64 or the CBM64) to which was spiritual successor, as opposed to a computer store only Amiga 1000, as well as being another computer whose keyboard is included in the same case. The original Amiga 500 proved to be bestselling the Amiga model of Commodore's company, Enjoying in particular success in Europe, according to Commodore UK, the entire sales of all Amigas in both Europe and the USA were 4-5 million.
The Amiga 500 had lots of Expansions:
Expansion ports are limited to a side of expansion port and a trapdoor expansion on the underside of the machine. The casing can also be opened up, all larger chips are socketed rather than being TH/SMD soldered directly to the motherboard, so they can be replaced by hand.
The chip RAM can be upgraded to 1mb directly on the motherboard, provided a Fat Agnus chip is also installed to support it.
The CPU can be upgraded to Motorola 68010 directly or to a 68020, 68030 or 6840 via the side expansion slot or a CPU socket adapter board...
